Job Description
Elwyn seeks a Senior Director to oversee Adult Day & Work Services primarily serving Elwyn Residential service recipients, including but not limited to, operations, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. The Senior Director takes on the primary responsibility for assigned program areas. In concert with the Executive Director, develops overall service line strategy and drive program operations of assigned Day programs in Pennsylvania and Delaware. Assists in establishing budgets and maintaining operations so that performance is acceptable to the customer and within the established budget. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIILTIES:
- Oversee operations of Adult Day programs providing support to Elwyn Residential service recipients
- Inspire and drive a shared vision for the development of services for adults with disabilities
- Oversee the billing processes and ensure prompt, accurate submission of required information
- Work with, understand, and comply with terms and conditions of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) within a unionized environment with tasks including but not limited to adherence to scheduling procedures, processing transfers and promotions, administering disciplinary actions, adjudicating grievances, where appropriate, etc
- Provide leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development to all levels of department staff
- Provide support and assistance to the Directors in the areas of onboarding of new employees, job description development, job postings and staff data changes/updates as needed
- Review and submit all staff related Human Resources (HR) paperwork in absence of the Executive Director as needed
- Assist the Executive Director with reviewing and conducting interviews for team vacancies for other program areas, and ensure the conduction of hiring, performance management and termination of employees in the programs directly responsible for
- Work with, guide and support the directors to ensure employee adherence to program policies and protocols including but not limited to safety measures
- Work with Finance staff to verify accounts payable and receivable as needed
- Notify directors of any new policies and procedures in a timely manner and train them accordingly.
- Plan, facilitate, lead and actively participate in program/administrative meetings, staff meetings and meetings with all other departments across the organization as needed
- In conjunction with Executive Director, prepare program budget
- Direct operations in a fiscally prudent manner and within established budgets
- Provide operational assistance across various programs, especially during times of transition and new development
- Develop new programs in concert with the Executive Director
- Develop new business opportunities, specifically regarding Community Participation Support and develop other opportunities for business development
- Ensure that an outcome focus is maintained in all services provided
- Ensure individual program planning is occurring and plans are being implemented through review of program operations
- Work with department directors and administration to ensure that quality service is provided and then monitored and continuously improved using observations, data collected, program regulations and best practices
- Direct operations to ensure compliance with established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide input for the development of new measures as needed
- Produce usable data which is actively monitored and contributes to overall program development goals
- Ensure that all programs meet credentialing requirements, licensure, certification and accreditation
- In concert with the IDD services Senior Directors, assists the Executive Director to develop and ensure compliance with IDD service wide initiatives Ensure customer satisfaction through direct contact and in response to customer satisfaction surveys
- Develop and maintain relationships with major customers to ensure that their needs are met
- Provide supervision of assigned staff in the areas including, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, leadership, coaching, training, timekeeping, performance management, promotion, discipline and termination
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- One of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university or 60 credit hours AND 4 years of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND 2 years of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university AND 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Five years of management experience in the human services field required, adult day program experience preferred
- Demonstrated strong, well-balanced leadership skills
- Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience with Microsoft Teams preferred
- Negotiating and problem solving abilities
- Ability to analyze and forecast service needs
- Demonstrated ability to develop budgetary requirements and fiscally manage operations of a large service line
- Strong performance vision
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
- Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record
