Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst has clinical oversight of the Enhanced Behavior Support Home in conjunction with the Regional Director and Home Administrator. This program is a clinically driven applied behavior analysis program for individuals who engage in acute challenging behavior. The behavior analyst must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This person is responsible for developing and training staff to implement behavior support plans within the designated program and to assess the effectiveness of all interventions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to include: indirect assessments, direct assessments, preference assessments, and functional analyses (as clinically indicated)
- Analyzes data to drive clinical decision making
- Develops Individual Behavior Support Plans (IBSP) to address challenging behavior and teach appropriate replacement behaviors
- Develops skill acquisition programs
- Monitor, assess, review and revise IBSPs and FBAs as needed.
- Provides ongoing clinical training, supervision and support for direct care staff, program coordinators and unit directors
- Provides Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training and required hours of supervision to insure staff obtain and retain the RBT credential
- Trains and maintains high level of integrity with the use of ProACT as a restraint curriculum
- Ensures staff are adequately trained in the use of mechanical restraint as indicted in the individual's behavior support plan
- Actively participates in IPP/ ISP/ and IDT meetings
- Reviews Special Incident Reports (SIRs) related to behavioral challenges
- Conducts treatment integrity, reviews findings and makes recommendations to provide needed support to staff
- Participates in weekly Team Meetings with appropriate team members
- Serves on various committees and subcommittees
- Develops Emergency Intervention Plans (EIP) and Individual Emergency Intervention Plans (IEIP)
- Follows all current policies and procedures of Elwyn California
- Cooperates with Elwyn California, regional center, licensing or any other authorized investigating body during an investigation and inspection
- Serves as a member of the team by adhering to all current policies and procedures of the facility, as well as, participating and promoting a home-like environment for the individuals
- One year of supervisory experience is required
- Provide supervision of assigned staff in the areas including, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, leadership, coaching, training, performance management, promotion, discipline and termination
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and safe crisis management, using agency-trained protocols
- Perform other related duties as required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree in Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university
- Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Must complete the BACB Supervision Training Curriculum within 90 days of hire
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience providing behavior support services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism who engage in severe challenging behavior
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
- Must be able to perform CPR and safe crisis management using agency-trained protocols
- Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be flexible and multitask in a fast- paced work environment with multiple, often competing, priorities

- Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required and report- writer experience preferred
- Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record
