Technical Advisor I

SUMMARY
The Technical Advisor I - Digital Rock Characterization (DRC) serves as
a core member of the Digital Innovation Team team, providing strategic and
technical leadership across digital rock workflows and product development
initiatives. This role acts as the technical interface between the Digital
Innovations Group (DIG) and the global DRC labs, with end-to-end ownership of
solution development, workflow optimization, and technology implementation. The
Technical Specialist ensures that domain-specific challenges are translated
into scalable digital solutions and plays a key role in advancing the
integration of imaging, automation, and analytics into the core analysis
workflow.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead product development initiatives in collaboration with DIG for digital rock technologies including integration into client-facing platforms (e.g., RAPID).
  • Refine and optimize DRC workflows for operational efficiency, data quality, and technical integrity across global laboratories.
  • Translate domain challenges into technical specifications and partner with software developers to deliver robust digital solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement new digital technologies that enhance imaging, automation, and analytics for core analysis workflows.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including SOPs, data schemas, process maps, and user guidance.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship across DRC laboratories to ensure consistent adoption of updated workflows and tools.
  • Support client technical engagements, providing subject matter expertise for technology adoption and characterization use cases
  • Contribute to technical strategy development for DRC's role in integrated reservoir evaluation.
  • Assist in internal testing and validation of new features, tools, and data workflows prior to deployment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Digital Rock Analysis, Core Analysis, or related upstream oil & gas services.
  • Proven experience in workflow development, technology implementation, or product ownership.
  • Familiarity with rock imaging methods (e.g., CT, SEM, NMR), digital interpretation software, and core analysis techniques.
  • Experience working with software development teams; exposure to tools like Python, SQL, or cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a technical environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Understanding of digital transformation initiatives
    in upstream energy.
  • Experience with laboratory systems, data models, or
    database design.
  • Ability to bridge technical and business requirements
    for global standardization efforts.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and
    interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and
    collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
