The Law department has an open position for an Associate Paralegal/ Paralegal/ Sr Paralegal in its Chicago, IL field office supporting the Chicago Personal Injury Litigation team. Located in downtown Chicago (in the central Loop) the Chicago office has a team of attorneys and paralegals who defend and try personal injury lawsuits filed in the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska. The paralegal position will be filled as either an Associate Paralegal, Paralegal or Sr Paralegal dependent on the successful candidate's experience level. This paralegal position supports the Personal Injury Litigation team with a focus on FELA and third-party lawsuits, working closely with in-house and outside counsel. The paralegal is responsible for a heavy litigation caseload and is responsible for the initial drafts of pleadings and discovery, identifying and gathering documents in response to discovery, preparing legal documents and correspondence, preparing and serving subpoenas, assisting in interviewing witnesses, summarizing records, maintaining electronic files and calendaring litigation deadlines, witness interviews and depositions among others. This position is assigned to the Personal Injury Litigation Team within Union Pacific's Law Department. Accountabilities

The final salary of the selected candidate for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty and training. This position also includes additional compensation and benefits offered by Union Pacific. This position is eligible for participation in the Union Pacific Annual Compensation Program.
