We are hiring an Electrical Reliability engineer to join our team at Memphis plant site.
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer specializing in power distribution systems to join our Memphis manufacturing facility. This critical role focuses on ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimization of our electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will drive electrical system reliability improvements, lead maintenance optimization initiatives, and provide technical expertise for our complex industrial power systems.
Key Responsibilities Electrical Systems & Power Distribution
- Design, analyze, and optimize electrical transmission and distribution systems to ensure maximum reliability and efficiency
- Conduct comprehensive electrical system assessments, including power quality analysis, load flow studies, and protective device coordination
- Develop and implement electrical infrastructure upgrades and modernization projects
- Troubleshoot complex electrical distribution issues and provide technical solutions for critical power systems
Reliability & Maintenance Engineering
- Lead reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs for electrical equipment and power distribution systems
- Implement and coordinate predictive maintenance technologies including thermography, power quality monitoring, and electrical testing protocols
- Analyze equipment failure patterns and develop proactive maintenance strategies to minimize unplanned downtime
- Establish critical spare parts inventory management programs for electrical components
Project Management & Technical Leadership
- Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical projects during planned outages and maintenance windows
- Provide direct technical supervision of electrical contractors and maintenance crews
- Lead cross-functional reliability improvement teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and update electrical maintenance procedures, technical standards, and safety protocols
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all electrical work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company safety standards
- Support food safety and quality requirements including HACCP, GMP, and facility sanitation standards
- Maintain comprehensive electrical documentation and drawings using industry-standard software
Required Qualifications Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
- Minimum 9 years of experience in electrical power systems within industrial manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated expertise in electrical transmission and distribution design, operation, and maintenance
- Experience in high-hazard manufacturing facilities (food, chemical, or personal care preferred)
Technical Competencies:
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems analysis, and protective device coordination
- Proficiency in electrical design software, power system modeling tools, and MS Office Suite (including Visio)
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Experience with statistical analysis and experimental design methodologies
Professional Skills:
- Proven project management capabilities with ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in root cause analysis methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to working toward obtaining Shelby County Master Electrician License
Preferred Qualifications Certifications & Training:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), or Reliability Maintenance Institute Certification (RMIC)
- Predictive maintenance certifications in ultrasonic testing, vibration analysis, infrared thermography, motor circuit analysis (MCA), or motor current signature analysis
- Current Shelby County Master Electrician License
Additional Experience:
- SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module experience
- Capital project management experience in industrial settings
- Experience with power system protective relaying and coordination studies
- Background in arc flash analysis and electrical safety program development
