Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The American Indian Center ( AIC) is classified as a campus-wide Center under the Provost and Executive Vice-Chancellor, through the office of the Vice-Provost for Academic and Community Engagement. On campus, it provides support for teaching, student engagement and research about American Indians and serves as the University's primary means of outreach and service to North Carolina's Native population, which is the largest in the eastern United States, and to other Native communities across the country. The AIC is an important cultural, intellectual, and social site for Native students, faculty and staff and is a valued voice in campus conversations on diversity, inclusion, and scholarship and ensures that American Indian perspectives continue to enrich the learning environment of the entire University.
Position Summary
Head student leader will lead both Carolina Horizons participants and other student leaders throughout the 4 day program. They will assist with room set up, serve on a student panel, and serve as direct contact for students and other leaders when Program Director is not available.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Works well with high school aged students.

CPR Certified

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
