POSITION SPECIFICS If you're interested in being a part of an Information Technology Team that works hard finding solutions and providing the best user experience for our students, faculty, and staff, all while still having fun with co-workers, then consider working for Penn State's Outreach and Online Education Information Technology (OOE IT). We investigate, evaluate, and collaborate to find the best technical tools and setup for our future, and the next generation of online learners. With a predominantly remote workforce, OOE IT provides tools and a supportive online environment to enable team members to be effective and connected members of the University with an emphasis on work life balance. We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our growing Architecture Team. The successful candidate will have proven experience leading the identification, selection, and configuration of PaaS and SaaS implementations to meet business needs and drive value. In addition to translating business requirements into successful vended deployments, this role will include responsibilities for ongoing vendor and contract management. A key part of our mission is shaping an optimized IT landscape that supports the mission of Penn State - and to do that, we need a qualified and dedicated solution architect. Preferred candidates will be skilled at identifying pain points and guiding the selection and implementation of vended solutions to solve company problems. The solution architect will be deeply involved in daily work across all business units, regularly interacting with both stakeholders and subject matter experts. OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneThis is an advanced level position, where qualified candidates will exhibit an expert level of knowledge and extensive experience fulfilling similar duties in previous positions. OOE IT values strong communicators, collaborators, and client focused individuals. We also look for individuals with the ability to persevere, to find the best solution and prove adaptable and accountable. As a new team member with OIT you will be expected to be a key contributor and collaborator within your field of expertise. OIT will provide an appropriate onboarding period, along with check-ins with peers and supervisors to address any needs or concerns, and an open door to the Executive Director, ensuring your success.
