Job Description

Primary Function:

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for purchasing parts and materials for the maintenance department.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the maintenance department.
  • Learn, understand and perform job utilizing Emaint operating system
  • Have a working knowledge of parts and equipment to identify replacement components
  • Source parts from vendors using phone or email contact. Negotiate for best possible pricing and payment terms, parts and materials, contracts and services.
  • Maintain parts crib for inventory, cleanliness and organization. Maintain inventory levels including monthly critical spare inventory audits.
  • Stock incoming orders and enter into Emaint system
  • Work with vendors on emergency shipments
  • Provide support to technical personnel when purchasing parts and materials requiring alternate part numbers
  • Write purchase orders (PO's), find pricing, track signatures. Place orders with the vendors after all approvals have been met. Ensure orders are placed in a timely manner and goods are received by the required date.
  • Manage the administrative process for receiving and organizing maintenance work requests.
  • Assist the administration of the preventative maintenance process and associated record keeping activities.
  • Work with various software programs and written forms, to track and receive incoming goods.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand a variety of Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Must know and understand the Hazard Communication Program and documentation required to receive hazardous material.
  • Detect faulty operations or defective material and report these, and any unusual conditions to proper supervision..
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform a variety of other tasks and duties of equal or less complexity as assigned by supervisor.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
  • *Perform all physical functions of position; standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs.
  • Meet established attendance standards.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Excellent Computer skills, including in-depth experience using Microsoft Office programs, data entry skills including the ability to work efficiently with purchasing systems and processes.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Work with various reports, forms and records where interpretation is required.
  • Accuracy in checking, counting, weighing and record keeping.
  • At least 1 year of related experience.
