Position Overview

The HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) Specialist leads the development, implementation, and improvement of JLL HSSE management systems at Client facilities. This role provides guidance, identifies necessary resources, and ensures compliance with regulatory and Client requirements in all HSSE matters related to JLL's scope of work.

Location : onsite 5x a week M-F in Bradley, IL

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for HSSE management systems and compliance programs at Client sites
  • Collaborate with JLL Site Team and Life Sciences HSSE team to establish and track performance goals
  • Monitor HSSE metrics and implement plans to meet or exceed key performance indicators
  • Direct HSSE Committees based on site needs
  • Evaluate safety, health, and environmental hazards within JLL's operational scope
  • Implement qualification programs for JLL service partners at Client locations
  • Ensure compliant management of Hazardous Waste and Dangerous Goods shipments where applicable
  • Identify training requirements and coordinate regulatory and Client-required training
  • Maintain required HSSE documentation and records
  • Develop, update, and enforce HSSE policies and procedures
  • Support accident investigations, including root cause analysis
  • Ensure timely reporting of incidents and implementation of corrective actions
  • Support account personnel on HSSE-related projects
  • Maintain productive relationships with Client HSSE organization
  • Drive initiatives to foster a strong HSSE culture
  • Manage high-risk work situations
Professional Relationships
  • Internal: JLL Site Facility Management, JLL Site Team, Chief Engineers, Technicians, JLL Risk Management
  • Client: Client HSSE Team and Facilities Management
  • External: JLL Service Partners
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or related field
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations
  • Minimum five years of experience with HSSE compliance and management systems in facility operations
  • Experience in biopharmaceutical, research, or maintenance operations preferred
  • Proven track record working with subcontractors/vendors on safety objectives
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with word processing and database applications
  • Ability to conduct indoor and outdoor inspections to verify program compliance

Estimated total compensation for this position:

65,000.00 - 85,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
