Job Summary
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading procurement operations, vendor management, and material planning to support Alcami's CDMO operations. This role manages a team of buyers and supply chain personnel to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective sourcing of direct and indirect materials, while also overseeing SAP-driven processes related to procurement, inventory, and material master data governance. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in SAP (MM), vendor relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive results in a regulated, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of buyers and supply chain planners to meet company-wide procurement and supply planning objectives.
- Monitor backlog and supply plans to ensure delivery commitments and revenue targets are achieved.
- Develop production plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders to optimize capacity utilization and meet demand.
- Track and improve KPIs including inventory turnover, on-time delivery, and procurement efficiency.
- Lead vendor onboarding, qualification, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Manage sourcing and purchasing of both direct and indirect goods and services (e.g., MRO, lab supplies, IT, consulting).
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements to ensure cost, service, and compliance goals are met.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and lead corrective action planning when necessary.
- Identify and implement cost savings and supplier consolidation opportunities.
- Act as SME for SAP MM, including vendor/material master data, POs, source lists, and indirect purchasing workflows.
- Ensure accurate and compliant material master data in SAP to support planning, procurement, quality, and finance.
- Drive continuous improvement in SAP Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflows and support audit readiness.
- Ensure documentation, contracts, and vendor data are complete and audit-ready.
- Oversee inbound logistics, receiving, storage, and outbound shipping activities in coordination with the warehouse and logistics teams.
- Implement and maintain inventory control processes to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Resolve capacity and material flow issues to minimize disruptions and maintain production schedules.
- Work closely with Finance, Quality, IT, Planning, and Manufacturing to align procurement strategies with site and corporate goals.
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, and internal SOPs.
- Lead supply chain-related projects and support process mapping for ERP/Inventory workflows.
- Provide high-level customer service support, internally and externally.

Qualifications
- Requires a related Bachelor's degree with 6+years of relevant experience.
- Must have at least 2+ years of experience in management roles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field (required); professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM, CPIM) preferred.
- 5-7 years of procurement experience in a regulated manufacturing or life sciences environment, with a focus on vendor management and indirect purchasing.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP MM and vendor/material master processes; experience with P2P workflows in SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and lead negotiations across multiple categories.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with strong attention to data accuracy and governance.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and driving procurement compliance initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Strong technical skills for area managing.
- Good business acumen.
- Strong understanding of company SOPs, and regulatory guidance documents.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and quality compliance for assigned area.
- Strong attention to detail, as well as time and resource management.
- Good presentation skills.

Travel Expectations
- Up to 20% travel required excluding training which will require travel.
