Cognizant Artificial Intelligence Sprinternship What is a Sprinternship?

A Sprinternship is a short, immersive micro-internship designed to give early-career students hands-on experience in the tech industry. Sprinternships provide students with real-world project experience, helping them build their resumes and gain valuable industry exposure.

Position Overview:

Cognizant will provide onboarding and training to familiarize the intern with our AI toolset and frameworks. The candidate will be expected to exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills and collaborate with Cognizant associates to develop solution assets using AI algorithms. You may be required to conduct research and analysis on AI landscape, startup ecosystem, emerging customer needs to recommend improvements to existing Cognizant AI solutions.

Who we are looking for:

An ideal AI Sprinternship candidate would be someone who can demonstrate strong academic performance and an ability to innovate with a product mindset. The candidate should have proficiency in one or more subject areas such as machine learning, natural language processing, neural networks, data science, computer vision, and AI model optimization. The candidate should be comfortable with one or more of the technologies such as Python, R, HTML, and WEB methods.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, pursuing a degree in STEM (Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, etc.), or equivalent degree programs
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proven capabilities in teamwork and leadership
  • A strong interest in technology and digital modernization
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic with a dedication to client service excellence
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team, including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary
  • Proven Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Location

Depending on your project assignment, you could be asked to come into an office in your geographical location. We anticipate most projects will operate remotely or in a hybrid capacity.

Start Date

The sprinternship will last 6 - 8 weeks, starting in June 2025.

Hourly Rate and Other Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
