Overview

BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a Software Test Engineer with 3+ years of experience, to work in a continuous integration continuous development environment in support of current and evolving Naval Air mission planning system products at Point Mugu Naval Base in Camarillo, CA. Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $90,000 USD to $115,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.



Responsibilities

    Performing manual and automated testing of Web and Desktop based applications and software on user representative hardware and virtual machines
  • Creating test plans and maintaining test environments
  • Working with development teams to design, develop, and execute scripts which validate, to a high degree of confidence, test cases defined within the projects test plan
  • Ensuring the appropriate testing and monitoring tools/technologies are configured accordingly with the test objectives/project team requirements
  • Conducting test case execution based on functional and technical requirements, and user stories
  • Utilizing manual and automated testing to ensure stability of each release
  • Supporting the automated load/performance testing across multiple messaging protocols (including HTTP), focusing on overall application performance - validating that application response and outputs accurately reflect functional and technical requirements
  • Analytical; tracking and communicating task progress, status, and key performance metrics
  • Assembling, debugging and qualifying new test systems; hands on identification of bug trends, defects and resolution working closely within teams
  • Characterizing and isolating bugs and providing steps to reproduce
  • Entering bugs into a bug database and keep track of requirements and bug fixes that were implemented correctly
  • Assisting technical writers with help documentation
  • Communicating effectively across multiple teams, Developers, Scrum Masters, and Project Managers
  • Participating in a Scrum/Agile development process


Qualifications

  • Between 3 to 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the job description and responsibilities sections
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and/or Atlassian Suite
  • 4+ years in software assessment, software testing, and software engineering required
  • Experience with automated software testing tools such as SmartBear or HP UFT preferred
  • 3 years' experience developing, creating, and modifying general computer applications software or specialized utility programs
  • 2 years' experience with JIRA, Jenkins, Maven, and Jama
  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare would be a positive but not required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills

Education
BS or BA degree in a Computer or Information Science field or a relevant technical discipline.
ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant Associate's Degree.

Clearance
Condition of employment - must have an active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to attain a Top Secret upon employment. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
