Join Our Team as a Compliance and Risk Officer

Are you a proactive, results-driven professional with a passion for managing risk and ensuring compliance in a dynamic financial environment? We're seeking a Compliance and Risk Officer to join our team and play a critical role in shaping the future of risk management at United Midwest Savings Bank (UMWSB).

In this role, you'll work closely with our Chief Risk Management Officer to build and maintain a robust risk management culture, drive compliance excellence, and develop strategies that protect the organization's reputation, security, and financial stability. Your expertise will contribute to overseeing the identification, assessment, and mitigation of potential risks across all aspects of the bank's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Risk Management: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop, implement, and monitor risk management strategies that align with the bank's goals and regulatory requirements.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Play a key role in designing internal controls, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to all banking regulations (OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, CFPB).
• Reporting & Presentations: Create and deliver insightful reports and presentations to senior leadership, highlighting key compliance findings, risk exposures, and recommending action plans.
• Investigate and Mitigate Risks: Investigate risk incidents, pinpoint root causes, and drive corrective actions to strengthen the bank's risk management framework.
• Regulatory Expertise: Stay ahead of changes in federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring timely assessments of new laws and their impact on our operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A strategic thinker with 5-8 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or internal auditing within the banking or financial services sector.
• An expert in banking regulations and risk management practices, with a deep understanding of the OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, and CFPB guidelines.
• Skilled in risk assessments, internal audits, and compliance reporting, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is committed to meeting deadlines with precision.
• A strong communicator with the ability to explain complex findings to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience in Fiserv Cleartouch, AML Manager, Fiserv Image Viewer (CWS), Fiserv Business Analytics, BAI and FIS/Fenley a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are a plus.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams or projects is a plus.

Schedule: Full-Time, Exempt (Some evenings and weekends may be necessary)

Location: Westerville, Ohio

Reports to: Chief Risk Management Officer

This role offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring no less than two days in the office each week. This arrangement may be adjusted at the discretion of your department manager or in response to evolving company needs.
