Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Assesses, transports and administers basic and advanced life support treatment to ill and injured persons in accordance with department, system and South Carolina DHEC policies, procedures and standards.
Essential Functions

Verifies operational readiness of vehicles and equipment Maintain cleanliness of MCAS vehicles Responds to calls received from the Dispatch Center Operates MCAS vehicles in a safe, courteous and efficient manner Assesses, monitors, transports and provides necessary medical treatment Prepares written documentation Attends staff meetings Performs POC testing with approval of Administration Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Requirements
Education - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned. Completion of Approved Paramedic Training Program Experience - One (1) year pre-hospital care experience preferred
In Lieu Of
The required active South Carolina AND National Registry EMS certification meets the educational requirements for this role. A Provisional SC Paramedic certification meets education and Paramedic certification requirements but are required to obtain conventional South Carolina certification and NREMT certification before the provisional certification expires.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
SC PARAMEDIC A valid driver's license; an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart. BCLS-Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification PALS(Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required within 90 days of hire NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required within 90 days of hire PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) - Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of patient equip (Vitals, suction, defib) Working knowledge of Cardiac Monitor, Defibrillator, Pulse Oximeter, Non-Invasive BP Monitor, Infusion Pumps, Other Equipment Ability to demonstrates skill proficiency on an annual basis Ability to maintains Professional Certifications by attending in-service training programs
