The Manager Supply Chain Operations reports to the Director of Supply Chain Operations and is responsible for the management and general oversight of the hospital's supply chain functions. The scope of work includes the development and supervision of processes, procedures, and policies that impact the Supply Chain Operations team at the assigned entity. Areas of impact include, but are not limited to, medical supply & equipment distribution, inventory management systems, receiving processes, customer service engagement, and team member development. Hours: 40 Hours (Full Time) Day Shift-must be available to work some weekends, nights and/or on call, as needed Location: Bayview Medical Center 4940 Eastern Avenue Baltimore, MD Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics Management or related field is required.
- Additional experience may be substituted for education. (Equivalency Formula: Related experience beyond minimum training experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement on a two-years
Work Experience:
- Six years supply chain experience with three years of prior leadership experience is required.
- Experience in a warehouse, hospital supply chain or customer service role preferred.
- Experience in surgical services or procedural area environment preferred.
Knowledge:
- Extensive experience managing material/logistic operations in support of patient care, as is generally acquired through at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare materials management setting
- Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of hospital finance, information systems, customer service, performance improvement and regulatory requirements
- Experience with point of use technology, MS Office applications, Enterprise
- Resource Planning, Materials Replenishment Planning and Materials
- Management Information Systems. (Examples: EPIC, SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft,
- Lawson, Manhattan, Pyxis, and other supply chain technologies).
- Knowledge of supply chain analytics including collection, cleansing, analysis and interpretation of supply chain data for a wide variety of project types and variety of organizational levels (e.g. corporate, warehouse, and entities)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Directs the daily activities of inventory management for Perioperative and other clinical units as well as the central supply storeroom. Utilize various computer systems to locate inventory / equipment, audit staff member quality / productivity and maintain budgetary guidelines.
- Collaborates with perioperative and other clinical units to establish Point of Use par levels and refill points, utilizing reports and data to inform and improve supply chain service levels.
- Ability to extract and interpret data, develop and implement work plans, and proactively monitor key performance indicators to make real- time adjustments to ensure goal accomplishment. Consistently seeks to improve work processes and workflow efficiencies.
- Assists Director with maintaining established department policies & procedures, objectives, quality assurance, and safety standards; provides leadership to improve employee productivity and service levels.
- Responsible for the oversight and accountability of inventory related to expired goods, credits, charges, lot tracking, and storage.
- Participates in all Value Analysis and product review committees at both system and affiliate levels, including Perioperative and other clinical standing committees and bid-related specific teams.
- Reviews free text purchasing activities in SAP daily to assure quick turnaround in sourcing and processing; facilitates purchase order discrepancy resolution through contact and research.
- Manages product recalls, including immediate notification to departments throughout the hospital, collection and return of product if required, and response to vendors, agencies, etc. Maintains related official documentation and provides monthly reports for the department.
- Ensures full department compliance with regulatory requirements (Examples: Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare, Department of Health, Department of Transportation, and systemwide audits.)
- Collaborates with Sourcing to secure bids for capital equipment as assigned
- Manages direct reports according to safety protocols and policies & procedures, in an effort to meet department performance standards. Ensures fairness and ethical responsibility, and provide positive & constructive feedback in an effort to make improvements
- Ensures timeliness of evaluations, sets measurable goals for staff, and provides both positive and constructive feedback regarding successes and opportunities for growth when compared to individual goals.
- Develops and monitors implementation of annual department goals that support the core strategies and objectives.
Salary Range: Minimum $37.87/hour - Maximum $66.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
