This position is responsible for managing, servicing, and developing Real Estate Finance (REF) banking relationships in an assigned area. Supports the ongoing financial and credit quality assessment needs of a mature portfolio through prescribed servicing and sales processes. Identifies client needs and recommends a product or service solution, making referrals to banking partners as appropriate. Builds strong relationships with clients in accordance with the Bank's core values, providing value for the client while maximizing sales revenue.
Responsibilities
- Prepare informative, concise, and error-free quarterly and annual reviews that include well-structured rationale to justify recommended regulatory rating and risk gradings, appropriate performance analyses that effectively support such rationale, and updated projections, if needed, based on well substantiated assumptions consistent with property performance trend and market dynamics.
- Analyze the credit impact of borrowers' amendment, consent, waiver, extension or lease approval requests, support or lead negotiation on terms and conditions if necessary, engage counsel for document drafting, and manage internal credit approval as well as other related internal processes for timely closing.
- Monitor operating and financial metrics and covenant compliance upon the receipt of relevant reporting items against bank's base case and escalate any concerns to senior portfolio management staff.
- Work with off-shore analysts to monitor timeliness of borrower deliverables.
- Answer audit inquiries for internal and external credit exams as they arise
- Coordinate with middle office and various internal/external stakeholders to process loan payments and cash management transactions
- Understand and adhere to the Bank's credit policies and procedures
- Requires learning and use of the Bank's internal systems
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate. Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of banking experience
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, think critically, exercise sound judgement, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and successfully manage time
- Team player who is able to establish effective working relationship with internal and external counterparties
- Familiarity with banking systems such as Salesforce, nCino, Moody's Credit Lens
- Exposure to key loan Commercial Real Estate Lending loan documents
For New York, the base pay for this position is generally between $120,000 - $140,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
