Job Title: Staff Engineer II - GRC

What you'll do: As a Staff Engineer II - GRC, you'll provide expertise in a suite of technical tools and products in a given domain to ensure solutions are safe, secure, compliant and reliable. You'll identify develop and support needs, as well as taking on design responsibilities supporting project tasks. A the Staff Engineer II - GRC, you'll facilitate dialogue and activities to ensure team collaboration including teams outside of your domain. You'll develop effective presentations and narratives for their teams.
This position will provide crucial support for our Governance, Risk, and Controls (GRC) platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our GRC software and systems, ensuring seamless integration with our existing technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a strong technologist with a practical data engineering mindset, is outcome-focused, and fosters teamwork.
This position is ONSITE ONLY (4 days in office with 1 remote day) and you must be currently located in or within a commutable distance from Phoenix, AZ or Columbus, OH.
GRC Platform Management: Manage and administer the organization's GRC platforms, including configuration, customization, and updates to meet evolving business needs and regulatory requirements. System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GRC platforms with other IT systems, applications, and databases, ensuring data consistency and accuracy. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and address technical issues, system bugs, and performance bottlenecks in GRC platforms promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal user experience. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. User Support and Training: Provide user support, conduct training sessions, and develop user-friendly guides to empower employees in effectively utilizing GRC platforms. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to recommend and implement improvements in GRC processes and systems. Data Analysis and Reporting: Generate insightful reports and analytics from GRC platforms to assist stakeholders in decision-making and risk assessment. Collaboration: Work closely with risk management, compliance, and internal audit teams to align technology solutions with business objectives and enhance overall risk management capabilities. - Lead the strategic planning of a project as it relates to technical solution design.
- Design and implement engineering principles aimed at reliability practices and sound recovery procedures.
- Design transaction specific application performance monitoring metrics that can be captured and passed to business partners.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations and procedures while also ensuring compliance with IT policies, procedures, and industry standards. Develop desktop procedures when needed that others follow.
What you'll need:
- 7+ years of development and/or implementation experience for enterprise applications.
- Bachelor's degree in related field required.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in managing and supporting Governance, Risk, and Controls platforms.
- Strong knowledge of GRC frameworks and principles, such as COSO, ISO 31000, NIST, etc.
- Proficiency in configuring and customizing GRC software, e.g., SAI 360, RSA Archer, SAP GRC, etc.
- Familiarity with IT security, data privacy, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience with Azure DevOps. Jira, Git, DevOps tools preferred.
- Knowledge of ETL concepts and large volume data handling between systems preferred.
- Knowledge of mathematical calculations to summarize and aggregate large volumes of data preferred.
- Working knowledge of BI / Reporting Tools (i.e., Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy) preferred.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals. Capable of leading and motivating cross-functional teams. Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level. Proficient in governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews and architectural compliance.
