Job Title: Electrician C

Location: Pascagoula, Mississippi

Overall Function

The Electrician installs and repairs wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical systems aboard vessels and within the facility. This role is essential to ensuring operational efficiency and safety in shipbuilding and repair activities.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

The following statements reflect the general duties performed in this position and should not be construed as a complete list of responsibilities:

* Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

* Install conduit on bulkheads using brackets and screws; thread wires through conduit to terminals such as connection boxes, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, and switch panels.

* Connect power-supply circuits to a range of electronic equipment including radio, radar, sonar, and fire control systems.

* Test electrical characteristics such as voltage, resistance, and phase angle in circuits using meters and diagnostic instruments.

* Construct and install instrument panels using hand tools, rulers, dividers, and power drills in accordance with specifications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.

* Proficiency with hand tools and electrical testing instruments.

* Understanding of shipboard electrical systems and relevant safety practices.

Experience and Training

* Prior experience as an electrician is preferred.

* Experience in an industrial or shipyard environment is preferred.
