Development & Patient Education
Qualifications Must have completed an accredited nursing program and possess a valid nursing license, completed Basic Certified Life Support certification prior to hire or obtained within 30 days of hire, completion of the unit based course, 8 hour of stroke education to be completed by the end of orientation and then bi-annually thereafter, Advanced Coronary Life Support (ACLS) certification or obtain within six (6) months from hire. Basic computer knowledge, must be able to meet the competency of unit assigned to and also be able to successfully complete orientation, must legally perform the essential functions of the job in accordance with the nurse practice act, able to demonstrate the necessary skills and competencies to include medication administration and nursing competencies, must be able to perform the essentials functions of the job, including ability to communicate effectively, able to read, write, comprehend and speak English. Must have knowledge of Machines: Pumps (IV, PCA, Epidural, Feeding), Chest tubes, Suction, IV's, Pulse Oximeter, Ventilators, CRRT Administrative: Blood transfusion, ET, Infection Control, PT/OT, Inhaler, Order Entry, BLS, ACLS certification of hire. |
