Fortrea is seeking an experienced Director of Employee Relations to lead a team of Employee Relations experts. As the Director of Employee Relations you will provide strategic guidance in developing and implementing employee relations strategies, policies and programs across the organization. This position is actively involved in transforming and building the Employee Relations Center of Excellence. You will collaborate with leadership, legal, HR teams and other stakeholders to ensure a positive and inclusive work environment. Responsibilities:
- Implement a strategy to centralize and optimize employee relations across the organization.
- Develop and implement innovative policies, procedures, practices and tools to promote productive working relationships.
- Establish metrics and measures of success that are aligned to business outcomes. Analyze trends and leverage data to educate business leaders. Measure the performance of the employee relations center.
- Build and lead a team of highly motivated and knowledgeable employee relations experts. Provides coaching and leadership to employee relations staff.
- Influence senior leaders toward optimal employee relations solutions.
- Understand business unit and organizational culture and initiate change and improve employee relations practices for the benefit of the entire organization.
- Partners with inside and outside counsel, as appropriate, to develop resolution strategies for employee relations concerns. Ensure consistency/compliance with appropriate employment laws and regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring and monitoring compliance with Company employee relations related policies and procedures via interpretation and communication to company employees and managers.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of professional human resource experience including two years in employee relations preferred or its equivalent through training, education, and other experience.
- 5+ years of management responsibility
- Business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional area(s) with proven management skills.
- Experience building and managing a centralized employee relations discipline.
- Experience with and hands-on working knowledge of labor and employment regulations.
- Ability to use a high level of independent judgment and confidentiality.
- Experience and/or knowledge of working in a shared services or Center of Excellence model is preferred.
- Excellent people management skills, including the ability to foster collaboration and inclusion, provide individualized support to employees, build relationships with remote team members, and foster a team culture of engagement and accountability.
- Experience around Global Employee Relations is a plus.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role.
Pay Range: $150,000-$170,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)
