Manager, Enterprise Data Governance

Job Title:Manager of Data Governance

Department:Enterprise Data Enablement

Reports To:VP of Data Management

Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Manager of Data Governance to lead our data governance initiatives and ensure the integrity, security, and effective utilization of our data assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to collaborate across departments to drive data governance strategies. They will lead and develop a team of Data Governance professionals while working closely with internal and external CNP stakeholders to drive consistent Data Governance policies, standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop and Implement Data Governance Frameworks:Design and establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across the organization.





  • Data Stewardship:Act as a data steward, overseeing the management and use of data assets, ensuring compliance with data governance policies.





  • Collaboration:Work closely with data owners, IT, and business units to align data governance initiatives with business objectives and regulatory requirements.





  • Data Quality Management:Implement data quality metrics and monitoring processes to identify and rectify data issues, ensuring high data integrity.





  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with data-related regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and best practices.





  • Training and Awareness:Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data governance policies and best practices.





  • Risk Management:Identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring robust data security measures are in place.





  • Reporting:Generate regular reports on data governance activities, data quality metrics, and compliance status for senior management.




Qualifications:




  • Education:Bachelor's degree in information management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.





  • Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.





  • Skills:





  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.





  • Experience with data quality management and data stewardship.





  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).





  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.





  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.





  • Proficiency in data management tools and technologies.




Preferred Qualifications:




  • Certification in data governance or related fields (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).





  • Experience with data governance tools, particularly Atlan and Monte Carlo.





  • Familiarity with data analytics, engineering and business intelligence platforms and best practices.
