Overview

The Project Coordinator works under the direction of a Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and administration of gas pipeline projects-from new construction and integrity digs to maintenance and rehabilitation programs. In this role, you'll help keep projects on track by managing schedules, tracking costs and risks, coordinating documentation, and ensuring clear, timely communication among stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Project Support & Administration
    • Maintain project schedules, cost trackers, risk registers, and quality checklists for pipeline scopes
    • Capture, organize, and file all project documentation (contracts, permits, invoices, meeting minutes, reports)
    • Prepare and distribute regular status updates to project teams and clients
  • Proposal & Change Management Assistance
    • Assist with gathering scope details, compiling cost estimates, and tracking approvals for small- to medium-complexity pipeline proposals
    • Log, track, and document change orders, scope adjustments, and budget revisions through formal channels
  • Resource & Field Coordination
    • Coordinate with internal groups (right-of-way acquisition, environmental, permitting, operations) and external contractors to schedule surveys, site visits, and inspections
    • Monitor contractor deliverables and follow up on action items to keep work moving smoothly
  • Communication & Meetings
    • Organize and facilitate team and stakeholder meetings: set agendas, record decisions, and assign follow-up tasks
    • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for routine inquiries from field crews, vendors, and internal teams
  • Risk & Quality Support
    • Update and maintain risk registers; escalate potential issues to the Project Manager
    • Track quality-control activities (e.g., weld inspections, pressure tests) to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • General Assistance
    • Support incident investigations, special projects, and ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Project Manager

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a project support or coordination role; experience on gas pipeline or other energy-sector projects is a plus
  • Familiarity with basic project controls concepts: scheduling, cost tracking, risk management, and change management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with MS Project or Primavera P6 is advantageous
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive, customer-service mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, field-oriented environment
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed

Preferred (not required)

  • Exposure to earned-value performance metrics or other project reporting tools
  • Understanding of PHMSA regulations, 49 CFR Part 192, or National Pipeline Mapping System requirements
  • Coursework or certification in project management (e.g., CAPM, PMP training)

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
