Location:

Radnor, PA (Airgas HO) - Management How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Manager, Corporate Development ("MCD") is responsible for originating and evaluating potential acquisition, divestiture and other business investment opportunities ("Potential Transactions"). In evaluating such opportunities the MCD must appropriately analyze and measure the financial, operational and strategic impact of acquisitions, divestitures and other business investments and then communicate the results of such analysis to key stakeholders within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Originate and develop Potential Transactions with Principals of target businesses.

  • Gather necessary data for evaluation of Potential Transactions and prepare financial scenarios, projections and business cases.

  • Manage or support (depending upon scope and staffing of project) due diligence process.

  • Maintain significant and effective relationships both internally with senior executives and externally with Principals of target entities.

  • Record activities and results in the team's CRM application

  • Negotiate terms and conditions of Potential Transactions, either directly with Principals of targets or to support SVP and AVP, Corporate Development.

  • Prepare business case summaries and recommendations regarding Potential Transactions for Executive Management and Board of Directors approval. Must have the ability to multi-task and manage several projects at the same time.

  • Manage or support the legal documentation and transaction closing process.

  • Coordinate integration and/or disentanglement activities.

  • Provide input on activity to monthly reports to Corporate and Group, quarterly reports to the Board of Directors, and other reporting functions as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance. CPA accreditation and/or MBA preferred.

  • At least 5 - 7 years of professional experience, interacting with both internal and external stakeholders

  • 3 - 4 years of financial modeling experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of the Company's strategic plans and business model to facilitate appropriate decision making regarding the fit and value of Potential Transactions.

  • Strong leadership and executive presence and a successful track record in working with senior executives..

  • Ability to comprehend Airgas' cash flow based valuation model and company financial statements.

  • Excellent project management experience and organizational skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to synthesize multiple elements into a professional business case following a prescribed format is crucial.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, as well as Google Suite applications

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%
