Job Overview The Senior Software Engineer position reports to the Manager, Software Engineering and is responsible for developing and supporting applications leveraging their expertise and knowledge of multiple systems/customer areas to build a robust, scalable, and reliable platform. Skills You Will Need Technical Expertise: In-depth experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, coding applications using Java or Python, building scalable web services, ESB, and event/stream processing. Technology Proficiency: Deep understanding of various technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, stream processing, RDBMS, and NoSQL databases. Mentorship and Leadership: Act as a coach and mentor to junior developers, delegating and managing tasks as necessary. Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information and issues, as well as provide solutions to all levels of the business. Project Management: Proficiency in juggling multiple projects, prioritizing objectives, and communicating timelines to team members. Ownership Mentality: Desire and ability to take ownership of products/projects. Application Development Methodology: Expert understanding of all application development processes, serving as a resource to others. System Maintenance: Expertise in existing applications supporting the business area, ensuring systems perform up to requirements. Who You Are
