Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB's Watertown, MA office is looking for a Structural Intern to join our team. The successful intern candidate will learn technical skills and computational software programs necessary to assist in the completion of transportation projects throughout the state and northeast region.

Responsibilities

    Collaborate with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner
  • Assist in development of planning and engineering solutions
  • Assist in data mining and visualization
  • Perform analysis of data or calculations
  • Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities
  • Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
  • Knowledge of drawing and mapping tools such as AutoCAD and GIS
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field
  • Ability to work on a computer remotely if necessary
  • Ability to travel locally and complete fieldwork if necessary
