Position Summary:

The Industrial Facilities Technician II will be responsible for general building maintenance in a modern industrial manufacturing and office facility. This is a hand-on position that requires 2-5 years of experience and the demonstrated ability to work independently. This individual will work autonomously under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor and must work well in a team environment. The Industrial Facilities Technician II must work well with other trades, Facilities personnel, and always keep in mind our goal is to support Manufacturing, Production, and all internal personnel.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Conduct physical inspections of the facility, grounds, premises, common areas, restrooms, mechanical spaces, etc.
  • Aid in Manufacturing Production equipment repairs.
  • Prioritize work orders and handling of urgent requests.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspection of assigned equipment in accordance with maintenance schedule and factory specifications. Report findings and take appropriate action for repairs.
  • Travel between all assigned SIG locations per schedule.
  • Identify and communicate with Supervisor regarding concerns with safety practices on job sites.
  • Engage in and actively volunteer for Continuous Improvement projects and tasks.
  • Seek ways to assist others sometimes without being asked while completing assigned tasks on time, displaying a high degree of professionalism with a collaborative attitude.
  • Complete all assigned tasks on time and sometimes ahead of schedule.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Education/Experience & Skills:



  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2-5 years of previous experience in a trade or mechanical position required.
  • Experience in overseeing and coordinating with external contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
  • Intermediate understanding and knowledge of building systems.
  • Intermediate skills and knowledge to work outside of normal Facilities duties completing tasks such as drywall repair and painting, carpentry, assembly and disassembly of cubicle systems, inventory management, and computerized building automation and management systems, as well as other miscellaneous maintenance duties to ensure Production is always ready.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and blueprints.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Intermediate in the use of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Building Controls Systems (BMS), and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Basic problem-solving abilities for technical issues.
  • Operation of equipment including but not limited to powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, and light commercial vehicles including plow trucks.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
  • Participate on problem solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to prevention of customer escapes.


Working Conditions:



  • Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) apart from breaks and lunch periods.
  • The duties of this position require standing for long periods of time, frequently working on ladders, scaffolds, and lifts; frequent kneeling, running, sitting, crouching, crawling, twisting, grasping and walking can be expected along with frequent lifting equipment up to 40 pounds and/or moving of equipment and materials up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
  • Work environment will sometimes be dusty and dirty with possible confined spaces.
  • Assignments will require exposure to varying climate and environmental conditions both extreme cold and warm weather condition for extended periods of time.
  • Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, be able to grip, reach, pull, and turn.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
