Summary: The person in this position will lead and work on challenging mineral and chemical processing projects and provide leadership to experienced engineering professionals. The person selected for this position will help support multidisciplinary project teams involved with mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, and related engineering activities. Project assignments may include feasibility studies, process testing and piloting, process design, project implementation, and plant startup/commissioning. The selected candidate will provide leadership and technical expertise in developing material and energy balance models, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, technical reports, equipment specifications, and capital and operating cost estimates. Knowledge and experience with pumping systems, slurry hydraulics, thickeners, material conveying, and tailings management systems is also important. Candidates must have experience with plant sampling and proper protocols, along with the ability to interpret and understand design drawings to make recommendations. The selected candidate will work on projects involving a variety of minerals, including nonferrous precious/base metals, industrial minerals, iron, coal, and oil sands. The person in this position will also have the opportunity to support business development activities. The work may at times require short-term, out-of-town work assignments. Minimum Qualifications:

A hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office; a remote arrangement refers working primarily from a home office. This position is/can be based out of Barr's Salt Lake City office. Remote arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, location requirements, and Barr's needs. Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $109,000-130,000 /year. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
