Summary: The person in this position will work on multidisciplinary project teams providing structural engineering and related technical expertise primarily for dam structures, hydropower facilities, and flood control structures, such as spillways, decant systems, overflow weirs, culverts, pump/lift stations, and other miscellaneous hydraulic structures. Primary responsibilities will include design and analysis, project management, preparation of plans and specifications, report writing, cost estimating, site inspections, dam safety evaluations, risk analyses, and minor construction observation. The work may require short-term, out-of-town assignments. As markets fluctuate, opportunities may also include working on renewable projects such as wind turbine foundation design, mining, and industrial processing facility projects. Minimum Qualifications:

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota; Ann Arbor, Michigan; or Denver, Colorado, offices. Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $115,000-$130,000/year. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. Barr has a "no retained earnings" model and distributes all its profit to our employees through our bonus plan and ESOP. NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided.
