Summary and Nature of the Work and Essential Duties
The incumbent's essential duties are listed below. When necessary, additional duties may be assigned, and P1 Service expects the incumbent to exercise initiative to anticipate and prevent problems.

  • Conduct periodic inspections of designated buildings and equipment; when necessary, repair and perform preventive maintenance on general building facilities.

  • Apply trim to office interiors including trim striping, dado work and stippling.

  • Perform such typical operations as applying decorative and/or protective finish coats to such office furniture as desks, chairs and cabinets.

  • Mix, blend and match paint and stains to proper color and consistency. Determine sequences of paint operations and methods to be used including need or advisability for scaffolding and rigging, color blending and matching required, type and amount of materials needed, and areas to be painted according to work orders; estimate time and cost for painting jobs.

  • Hand-brush, roll and spray paint Hospital buildings, areas, equipment and furniture.

  • Performs patient room preventative maintenance including door adjustments, ceiling tile replacement, floor tile replacement, drywall patch and paint. Mechanical safety checks as needed.

  • Inspect, repair, and improve walls damaged in existing or remodeled areas- patch & paint in patient, public and private locations throughout the hospital and associated buildings.

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations.

  • Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location and operation of the system(s).

  • Perform prescribed non-destructive tests; collect and report deficiencies as well as document all tests using both computer and handwritten logs.

  • Build and repair cabinets and countertops.

  • Construct and repair building frameworks and structures-such as stairways, door frames, partitions, and rafters-made from wood and other materials.

  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.

  • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames.

  • Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials.

  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must have the following education, skills and abilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Education Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent, required, and 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
  • Experience: 0-3 years' experience as a Maintenance Technician. Basic level of knowledge in the area of painting and carpentry preferred.
  • Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; maintains confidentiality; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to others' ideas and try's new things.
  • The incumbent must have basic computer skills.
  • Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; able to read and interpret written information.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License. Driving may be a requirement of this position. If so, an acceptable DMV is required.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have access to drive a well-maintained vehicle. Must have up to date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Upon offer of position, you are required to provide the following:
    • Medical records showing up-to-date tuberculosis (TB) test or authorization for new TB testing.
    • Medical records showing up-to-date vaccinations or proof of immunity regarding the vaccination list below. If no immunity, then authorization for new vaccinations or a signed declination is required regarding the vaccination list below. Vaccinations are measles, mumps, rubella (combined MMR), chickenpox (Varicella), tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis (Tdap), and Hepatitis B.
  • Annual vaccination forinfluenza (flu) is required during flu season or medical proof of flu vaccine allergy and signed declination.
