Java Developer

We're seeking a talented Java Developer at NS2 Mission to help drive cutting-edge, full-stack software solutions in the fast-paced tech hubs of Chantilly and Herndon. In this hands-on role, you'll play a key part in designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing enterprise-grade applications in a cloud-native environment. From building scalable microservices to crafting intuitive user interfaces, you'll work across the entire software stack-making a direct impact through every phase of the cloud-based development lifecycle. Ideal candidates are experienced full-stack developers who thrive in agile environments and are passionate about delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and Technical Leads to decompose functional requirements into user stories and actionable development tasks.
• Design and implement full-stack software components, including data models, business logic, APIs, and user interfaces.
• Build scalable and secure APIs and integrations with other systems and databases.
• Develop and containerize Java and Python-based microservices for deployment in an AWS cloud environment.
• Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps tools to automate cloud orchestration and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Utilize AWS best practices to optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Work with modern front-end frameworks to build intuitive data visualizations and interactive user experiences.
• Develop custom data processing applications using open-source Python libraries and data tools.
• Build and maintain unit and integration test frameworks, and integrate automated testing and security scanning tools into CI/CD workflows.
• Participate in agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, peer code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Proficiency in software development across the full stack: data layer, application logic, and user interface.
• Strong programming skills in Java, with experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and React.
• Solid understanding of software development frameworks, databases (SQL, XML), and API design.
• Experience developing and deploying applications in a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes or similar.
• Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools and DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate software with cloud-native architectures and data systems.
• Experience in building secure, testable, and maintainable software.
