Summary: The Electrician Assistant will work under the supervision and instruction of a Maintenance Electrician to learn, assist and perform the duties of a Maintenance Electrician as follows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Machine Repairer and Maintenance Tool Maker, to diagnose malfunction.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Inspects electrical systems.
  • Understands and follows safe working procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions

Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and write basic English, proficient in basic arithmetic.
  • 6 months experience in a maintenance or construction setting or equivalent mechanical background.

Preferred Training and Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office products preferred.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use standard industry hand and power tools.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee moves objects regularly up to 10 pounds frequently up to 25 pounds occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
