Tennant Company is currently seeking a Quality Engineer II tosupport the Operations Department's mission to be the center of operational excellence delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction by focusing on continuous improvement activities and root cause problem solving.In addition, this role is responsible for the continued development, maturation, and implementation of the Tennant/Holland quality management system to sustain ISO 9001.2015. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support action items from Tier III meetings
- Collaborate with management, engineers and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other items to facilitate effective production processes.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineers to develop capable processes - leverage technology & design improvement where possible.
- Support New Product Engineering and new product launches.
- Champion best assembly practices as identified by Tennant's H.E.A.T. (Hydraulics, Electrical, Adhesive, Torque) Program.
- Conduct activities required to maintain ISO Certification for the Quality Management System, in accordance with Company strategies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes regarding the Quality Management System adopted in the assigned site/plant.
- Maintain a floor presence to support production team success and foster positive working relationships.
- Understand future manufacturing requirements.Analyze the need for capital equipment and have the capability to justify the investment(s).
- Support Lean solutions - waste reduction.
- Identify, support and lead actions for implementing cost improvements/lean projects.
- Manage projects to develop new technologies & processes.
- Create & implement standard work to drive consistency and improve productivity.
- Lead Continuous Improvement Events (Kaizens)
- Ensure reports and documentation about quality-related procedures which are implemented in the assigned site/plant.
- Ensure the editing of reports about Quality indicators in the site/plant of his/her area of responsibility and the permanent monitoring of company process in accordance with company strategic plans.
- Collaborate with Supervisors and support teams to help: 1) Reduce the impact of Leading Quality Metrics (Defects per Unit) from inside the Plant and; 2) Lead RCCA activities for Lagging Quality Metrics (Short Term Quality) from the customer.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering OR related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in an ISO environment.
- Experience in root cause analysis & implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
- Experience using poke yoke thought processes and root cause counter measures.
- Experience in calibration.
- Experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing.
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning software.
- Proven track record of innovation, ingenuity, creativity, attention to detail, ownership, integrity, accountability, and willingness to seek challenging tasks/projects.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
- Formal Lean Training / Waste Reduction preferred.
- ASQ QE Certification preferred.

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Mustregularly lift and/or moved up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required tostand, use hands to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel toed shoes and hearing protection.
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $71,400 - 107,400 Annualized
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
