We have seen great success in innovating advanced manufacturing techniques in the design and fabrication of temperature sensors, thermocouple systems, interconnect cable-harness assemblies, probes, and sensors. For over 65 years, we have successfully supplied these products to the commercial, business, military jet, rotor, and spacecraft markets.
Located in Branford, CT, we have an opportunity for a results-driven and growth-oriented Operations Manager. The Operations Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of our Business Unit, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a strong leader capable of managing staff, optimizing resources, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a "US Person" as defined by 22 CFR 120.62, 15 CFR 734.2(b)(2)(ii), 10 CFR 810.3, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager directs manufacturing operations through the development, execution, and continuous improvement of lean strategies to exceed metrics in People, Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery. Oversees all areas of manufacturing to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.
- Primary responsibility for the overall profit and loss of the business unit's product lines.
- Work closely with the Business Unit Manager to grow the business.
- Support the development of new product introduction in concert with tasks of the New Product Development Group and Sales
- Develop and maintain the required skills of employees within the business unit. Develop and maintain compliance with all approved operating budgets.
- Maintain daily cost, schedule, and quality metrics on the Production floor.
- Ensure operations conform to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Provide the leadership and management necessary for the continuous improvement of the unit's processes and overall performance to meet objectives and goals.
- Maintain inventory levels within established limits.
- Responsible for the proper staffing and performance reviews of all business unit personnel.
- Responsible for the administration and compliance to all customer contracts.
- Ensure business unit compliance to all internal and external quality / operating policies, procedures and standards
- Directs Production Control Manager, Team Leads, and Manufacturing Engineers.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines and easily adapt to changing situations.
- Computer literacy - shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications.
- Promote and demonstrate positive customer relations in all business unit activities. Must be able to actively engage with employees, supervisors, manufacturing engineers, and other managers on the floor.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university. MBA Preferred.
- 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience and responsibilities, 5 of which must be in a management / supervisory capacity.
- Requires broad technical or administrative experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing background is a plus.
- 5+ years in People development.
- Demonstrated effective Project Management.
- Aerospace industry experience preferred.

- Will be computer literate, particularly in shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications.
- Must have a thorough understanding of production scheduling and shop Operations.
- Knowledge of Visual Software or ERP a plus.
- Must be able to develop and maintain the required skills of employees within the business unit
