Job Summary:

As a Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing financial data to support strategic decision-making. In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective cost control and financial planning, contributing to the success of our programs.

Job Responsibilities:

- Analyze and prepare cost estimates for projects and manufacturing.

- Track costs associated with specific projects or jobs, including labor, materials, and overhead.

- Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting records and documentation.

- Monitor and report on project costs and variances to ensure budget compliance.

- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to assess cost allocations.

- Conduct cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making processes.

- Review and analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasting and budgeting for aerospace projects.

- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.

- Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.

- Support pricing strategies and contract negotiations by providing cost data and analysis.

- Implement and improve cost accounting systems and procedures.

- Prepare detailed reports on cost performance and present findings to management.

- Assist in inventory valuation and management to optimize stock levels and costs.

- Evaluate and recommend process improvements to enhance cost efficiency.

Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.

- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, such as Jobboss

- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis.

- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.

- Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.

- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Educational Qualification and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within the aerospace industry.
