American Modern Insurance Group is seeking a skilled Finance Strategy Manager to join our diverse finance team of experts. As a Finance Strategy Manager, you will directly report to the CFO and play a key role in supporting and leading strategic projects at the local level, across GSI and the Munich Re Group. Your focus will be on optimizing capital efficiency and fungibility, streamlining legal entity structures, and driving key Finance transformation projects. You will also own the Finance upskilling initiative and support the CFO in driving transformation. In this role, you will need to balance and influence multiple competing priorities and stakeholders, taking informed risks to ensure optimal resource and budget allocations, with a focus on achieving mission-critical objectives and substantive returns on invested spend.

Responsibilities:

  • Employ project management principles to lead and manage capital optimization initiatives across the AMIG group of companies
  • Improve capital efficiency and fungibility
  • Increase operational efficiency
  • Collaboratively lead and influence diverse teams and stakeholders, coordinating activities and project resources to ensure successful outcomes that are consistently on schedule and within budget.
  • Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to minimize disruptions. Maintain stringent quality standards to deliver exceptional project results.
  • Be the conduit for the AMIG Digital CFO agenda
  • Lead the Finance upskilling initiative as set out in the Finance playbook. Monitor and assess new developments and update Playbook and cross departmental development plans
  • Develop out-of-the box solutions to realize harmonization potential in line with project scopes and drive operational efficiencies in transformation projects
  • Liaise with and build effective relationships with counterparts across the organization, i.e., GSI finance organizations, Munich counterparts in CFP, CAP, etc.
  • Manage and steer external support if applicable (e.g., external consultants engaged in M&A processes)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent education and work experience. Graduate degree a plus
  • 5+ years of work experience in insurance, corporate finance or M&A.
  • Strong Corporate Finance skillset - Actuarial and Accounting expertise is a plus.
  • Munich Re Group experience and solid understanding of Group's key finance processes and systems is a plus.
  • Strong skills in project management to lead in a collaborative way and to influence and negotiate across all levels of the organization.
  • Work in a proactive and self-directed manner.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills with demonstrated ability to present to Senior Executives; demonstrated ability to tailor communication to different audiences and gear complex, multidisciplinary issues to the respective target group.
