The Communications Manager supports the Marketing & Communications Department by driving internal and external communication strategies that align with our company's strategic initiatives. This role manages copy-based projects, ensuring deliverables meet our Brand Guidelines and Style Guidelines for consistent tone and identity. Additionally, this role oversees our company's internal storefront. The Communications Manager is responsible for many organizational and creative tasks that standardize and improve the communication efforts of the organization.

We are seeking a Communications Manager for our customer, County Materials in Marathon, WI.

Job Duties:

* Manage a team of direct reports, including onboarding, training, developing, and evaluating performance.

* Manage copy-based projects and other Marketing projects as needed, providing clear direction and communication, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service

* Manage supplier relationships, demonstrating negotiation and capacity planning skills

* Assign projects and tasks to direct reports and suppliers, overseeing capacity and proactively identifying and addressing concerns

* Crosstrain direct reports and suppliers to ensure the Communications Channel is scalable

* Develop and execute communication strategies for company news, social media, our internal newsletter, and others as needed

* Oversee the production of communication deliverables that support sales, recruitment, and other strategic initiatives, ensuring all work aligns with our Brand Guidelines and Style Guidelines

* Review all copy deliverables, making revisions and coaching writers as needed. Other Marketing deliverables may be included in review.

* Backfill writers and social media coordinators as needed, demonstrating the ability to write professionally and a thorough understanding of social media management best practices

* Maintain relationships with industry associations and identify opportunities to promote our organization and products in trade publications.

* Strategize and drive our organization's public relations efforts, including news coverage and radio advertising opportunities

* Determine the effectiveness of strategies by collecting and interpreting SEO, website, and social media analytics. Integrate findings into current and future strategies. Contribute to the development and refinement of departmental processes

* Learn all product divisions and products with the ability to discuss and educate others on product functionality, regional availability, benefits, advantages, target customers/audiences, competitors, and service life.

* Collaborate with other Marketing Channels, representing the Communications Channel

* Collaborate with other managers to support cross-departmental initiatives

* Initiate project discovery and research objectives

* Identify creative ways to repurpose and leverage existing content to drive sales and traffic to the website

* Brainstorm concepts and messaging with the Communications Channel

* Manage the company's online reputation through Google Business and social media networks

* Update project management software with resources and publication dates

* Identify opportunities to enhance and expand upon our Brand Guidelines, Style Guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Experience and Qualifications:

* 5 - 8 years of work experience as a copywriter, communications specialist, social media strategist, marketing manager, or similar role

* Demonstrates strong leadership skills

* A Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, management or a related field is preferred

* A writing portfolio is preferred

* Possesses a creative, collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and knowledge of sales, marketing, and social media

* Pays close attention to detail and provides attentive customer service while completing several projects simultaneously

* Proactive, multi-tasked, self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
