We have an opportunity for a Buyer to join our North Aurora, IL team. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing for their commodity and to ensure there is enough products at the right time to ensure customer demands are met while meeting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash objectives.

You will:

  • Lead, plan, and organize procurement of products to ensure on-time delivery of product to our customers and maximize the available capacity at the most effective total cost.
  • Work directly with suppliers to develop strong relationships, manage supplier performance, and ensure expectations are met.
  • Monitor forecast against demand and usage quantities to identify issues and trends, utilizing supply chain software and systems.
  • Maintain system data related to parts and suppliers.
  • Manage inventory on an ongoing and proactive basis.
  • Participate on teams in new product launches, product updates and the ramp down of expired products to minimize customer impact as well as minimizing obsolete inventory.
  • Knowledge of related products is beneficial to understand the market and material process flow.
  • Work closely with Production Scheduling to understand inventory needs and schedules are met.
  • Work closely with Logistics to improve flow of material from requisition to final destination along with quality of paperwork and packaging of incoming receipts from vendors.
  • Ability to work and communicate internally across all levels of the organization.
  • Employ lean concepts and techniques, working closely with the lean team to improve productivity.
  • Design and implement short term and long-term business strategy plans that meet / exceed business inventory levels and supplier delivery performance targets.
  • Designing and implementing process improvements targeted at improved productivity, quality, safety, value engineering, cost, and efficiency of operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ plus years in buying or related experience in a supply chain role.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma, CPIM, CPM is a plus.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Technical skills in Lean Manufacturing techniques, Kaizen, Process Improvement, freight and distribution, materials management, and production scheduling
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Builds high performance teams and is a strong team player.
  • Strong commitment to company values
  • Excellent computer proficiency, experience with JDE or SAP strongly preferred.
  • Note: This position is 5 days a week, onsite.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $61200 - $113600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
