Position Overview

QinetiQ is seeking a highly experienced Network Systems Engineer. The ideal candidate will have aerostat, ISR experience supporting network and data continuity operations as a current support person, or prior program support.



Responsibilities

    Network and subsystem design, evaluation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of various network and related computer systems as well as data dissemination to internal subsystems along with external networks.
  • Designing, deploying, and operating:
  • Cisco and other vendor Switches, Firewalls, and Routers
  • VPN Solutions
  • Providing subject matter expertise in the theory and operations of a wide variety of protocols and technologies
  • Test and evaluation of new equipment for implementation into baseline configurations
  • Design, plan, as well as lead initiatives for the optimization and restructuring of network architecture
  • Troubleshoot network systems to identify and resolve issues
  • Provide solutions to complex problems
  • Create detailed, accurate, and polished system/network diagrams using Innoslate MBSE, Cameo Magic Draw, Microsoft Visio, or Lucid App.
  • Teaching and training team members and new hires in support processes, tools, technologies
  • Review engineering specifications and design review documents
  • Providesupporttocustomer and staffto duplicate and document hardware/software anomalies.
  • Review Field Modification Procedures for implementation into Technical Manuals
  • Support engineering effortswithtestingofprototype systems and pre-released software


Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must have 5 - 10+ years of network engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Information Technology desired and may be substituted for some experience
  • Adept computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new engineering software tools
  • Preferred certification in any of the following:
    • CompTIA (Network, Security, or Linux+)
    • Cisco (Certified Support Technician or Cisco Certified Associate
    • Cloud Platforms (any foundational or associate-level certification from AWS or Microsoft Azure).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Advanced working knowledge of PC computers and computer systems to enable the effective execution of systems activities.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Successfully completed Background Investigation with a Favorable Suitability Determination, and issuance of DHS Suitability determination.
  • Ability to manage small projects from start to finish
  • Ability to organize and attend meetings
  • Ability to create and follow robust test reports and procedures
  • Utilize enterprise network monitoring tools
  • Experience managing enterprise networks
  • Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in multinational military environments and supporting foreign military clients is highly preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic, fast-paced environments and address emerging technical challenges.
