JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator (Senior)

GOVERNMENT AGENCY: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Infrastructure Services & Back Office Support (ISBOS)

LOCATION: Remote; Employee must reside within a 50-mile radius of Clarksburg, WV in order to be available to come on-site to FBI facilities in Clarksburg, WV for on-call support in the event of an outage or for scheduled maintenance.

POSITION TIMING: Contingent on award; expected contract start date June 2025

ITC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Administrator to join our team supporting The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division. As part of the CJIS Division, you will be instrumental in equipping law enforcement, national security, and intelligence community partners with the critical criminal justice information necessary to protect the United States while ensuring the preservation of civil liberties.

This role will be responsible for diagnosing complex system issues, optimizing system performance, implementing robust security measures, and contributing to the design and scaling of system architectures. The Systems Administrator will work closely with other technical teams to ensure the FBI's infrastructure remains secure, efficient, and scalable to meet future demands.



Responsibilities

    Manage and mentor junior administrators on application management best practices and providing technical support.
  • Evaluate and recommend network hardware and software vendors.
  • Install, upgrade, patch, and configure complex applications across the organization.
  • Monitor application performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies to maintain optimal user experience.
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate application problems, including integration issues, data inconsistencies, and security breaches.
  • Implement and enforce application security policies, manage user access controls, and monitor for potential security threats.
  • Forecast future application needs, scaling infrastructure to accommodate growing demands.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand application requirements and align system functionality with business objectives.
  • Ensure applications adhere to relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Lead the response to application-related outages or critical incidents.


Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Experience: Minimum of eight years working experience with one year of current experience in supporting and troubleshooting various computing devices and operating systems.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deep understanding of application architectures and technologies (e.g., databases, web servers, middleware).
    • Extensive experience with enterprise licensing and monitoring applications (Riverbed, Splunk, Cisco Prime/Catalyst Center) relevant to the organization.
    • Expertise in scripting and automation tools for system administration tasks.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
    • Proventrack record of managing complex application environments.
    • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance.

DESIRED:

  • FBI Program Experience: Prior exposure to FBI IT/Infrastructure programs and operations is highly desirable, as it will allow for a faster integration into the CJIS Division's mission and objectives.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, System Management, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred
