As a Scientist at Inotiv, you will be instrumental in conducting laboratory experiments that contribute to the development of new pharmaceuticals. Your work will involve analyzing biological samples, developing and validating analytical methods, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a strong foundation in laboratory practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Specific
- Perform routine sample analysis, method development and validation experiments
- Develop and maintain records to comply with appropriate regulatory requirements
- Maintain all communication with clients
- Coordinate all internal aspects of the study
- Review data associated with the study
- Troubleshoot analytical methods
- Conduct and document laboratory investigations
- Train laboratory personnel as needed
- Enter data into databases
- Follow SOPs and other applicable laboratory or company procedures.
Tools, Equipment & Other Resources Used
- Various software applications sustained by a Windows platform. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Operates laboratory equipment, including but not limited to, HPLC and LCMS/ MS instruments, fluid pumps, balances, pH meters, lab mixers, drying ovens, centrifuges, pipettes, and hand tools.
Requirements and Qualifications
- B.S. in chemistry, with at least 5 years of direct laboratory experience, or M.S. in chemistry or related science with at least 3 year of direct laboratory experience, or
- Equivalent combination of related education and required work experience will be considered with management approval.
Skills and abilities
- Good organizational skills.
- Displays versatility and accuracy performing laboratory operations, some of which may be difficult and/or non-routine.
- Ability to use a computer to compile and maintain databases for records and inventory, utilizing the appropriate software.
- An attitude for quality, an eye for detail, the ability to follow written instructions and work with a minimum of supervision.
- Understanding of GMP/GLP/GCP regulations with the ability to apply these practices daily.
- A working knowledge and awareness of general laboratory procedures.
- Ability to use personal computer and various software programs.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.

Physical Activity
- Moderate physical activity
- This position will require frequent walking, sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time, carrying, heavy lifting (max. 50 lbs), reaching while standing and twisting hand movements, finger control and other general repetitive motions (for more than four [4] hours per day)
- Able to wear latex or nitrile gloves, dust mask or respirator, and safety glasses as required.
- Ability to read and understand applicable materials
- Manual dexterity to operate laboratory equipment and calculator/computer
- Able to read and interpret test results and instrument specifications
Working Conditions
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior office work or laboratory environment
- Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include use of protective equipment
- The noise level is usually moderate
- This position will frequently be involved with radiant/electrical energy, solvents, grease, oil, irritants, acids, bases, and other hazardous chemicals, electromechanical hazards, flammable materials and biohazards. Due to exposure to hazardous biological material (which may include HIV positive specimens), immunization to Hepatitis B and/or other diseases may be a requirement.
