POSITION SUMMARY:The Division of Student Life; University Housing & Dining is seeking a Summer Maintenance Helper to assist Facilities, Mechanics, Environmental Systems Mechanics and Electronics Technicians with repairs and preventive maintenance. DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
- Clean and service smoke detectors.
- Change air filters.
- Replace window air conditioners.
- Clean cooling coils and equipment.
- Repair window screens.
- Assist in minor plumbing duties
- Assist with fire panel checks.
- Minor carpentry duties
- Replace ceiling tile
- Ability to climb and work off ladder when needed
- Lube doors and windows.
- Replace electrical receptacle plates.
- Assist in testing, maintenance and cleaning of low voltage electronics, such as card access cameras and fire alarms.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must be able to move up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work outside, non-air conditioned, or construction area's.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid driver's license and meet and maintain the University Fleet Safety Program driving standard is preferred.
