What We Need:

HNI Corporation is currently hiring an Accounting Specialist to support our finance team with responsibilities focused on accounts payable and accounts receivable. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, maintaining detailed records, and supporting internal reporting and reconciliation efforts.

What You Will Do:

  • Process accounts payable invoices for payment through the company's accounts payable system with a high degree of accuracy
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Apply cash receipts accurately to customer accounts receivable
  • Administer corporate credit card processes which include both travel and credit cards to internal members and card issuers: customer service, processing applications, reporting, etc.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding
  • Access digital financial information to answer general questions, and those related to specific accounts
  • In all duties, demonstrate a high degree of knowledge, organization, competence, and administrative skills
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Support other duties or special projects as assigned

What You Have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Accounting or similar field
  • Experienced and proficient using Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Outlook and Excel
  • Prior experience with Oracle financials preferred
  • Proven ability to work on various tasks at one time in a fast-paced team environment

  • Ability to work effectively with some independent judgment and initiative
  • Ability to anticipate and proactively resolve potential issues
  • Desire to proactively identify and implement process improvements
  • Strong communication skills - communicating clearly verbally & in writing with members, customers, and suppliers
