Sigma Defense is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in Patuxent River NAS, MD.

Requirements
  • 3+ years as a Cybersecurity Architect or Lead Cybersecurity Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of Operating System security, network security, and application security.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as Identification, Authentication, and Authorization systems; host and network firewalls; Endpoint Security systems; Security Information and Event Monitoring systems; and Encryption systems.
  • Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
  • Experience with security automation and scripting.
  • Experience securing Tactical Platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Knowledge of Anti-Tamper Designs, Techniques, and Policies.
  • Mandatory certifications: Security+ and RedHat Linux System Administration.
  • Experience as a Security Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Information Systems Security Developer is preferred.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field of study.

Essential Job Duties (Not All-Inclusive):

  • Security Architecture and Design
    • Evaluate systems compliance with the cybersecurity architectural design, government/industry regulations, and best practices.
    • Assist with implementing and maintaining secure architecture through securing systems, networks, and applications.
    • Develop, document, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Security Assessments and Risk Management
    • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats.
    • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
    • Evaluate security logs and systems for unauthorized and/or suspicious activity.
  • Incident Response and Security Operations
    • Lead or participate in security incident response activities.
    • Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and prevent future incidents.
    • Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks.
  • Security Tooling and Automation
    • Evaluate, select, and implement security tools and technologies.
    • Develop and maintain security automation scripts and tools.
  • Mentoring and Collaboration
    • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the system.
    • Stay up to date with the latest security threats and technologies.

Salary Range: $130,000- $160,000 annually.
