What you'll do

You'll collaborate with supporting organizations to include business unit management, Contracts, Legal, People and Culture and Marketing to expand our market share within the US Department of Defense and US Federal Government space in addition to the International Government markets. You will work with the entire business development and sales team to analyze current market conditions, forecasting future market characteristics and develop strategic plans to grow smartly and efficiently.


The day-to-day

  • Perform market research and analysis to identify new market trends and identify opportunities to grow the business
  • Work within the sales, business development, marketing, and product management teams as well as other internal teams to develop and implement strategic and, in some cases, tactical plans to enable the organization to grow its product portfolio and overall market share.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of our existing products and service offerings to develop both differentiating upgrade plans as well as plans for new product entries to meet market forecasts
  • Stay current with best industry practices
  • Be data driven at all times in analyzing current processes and ways to achieve efficiencies
  • Create, execute and maintain a strategic business development plan and manage business development initiatives
  • Tracks emerging markets and trends
  • Researches and identifies new opportunities
  • Establish relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors in support of business development
  • Propose and develop strategic partnerships
  • Expands the profile and reach of the company and its brands
  • Develops and strengthens internal and external relationships that will lead to increased lead generation and market share
  • Identifies and recommends new products and services
  • Help craft the company's long-term objectives and identify plans to meet them
  • Provides advice on product development and distribution and promotion strategies
  • Conducts webinars and presentations to raise the brand and product profiles
  • Fulfills requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs) from potential partners and customers
  • Meet regularly with other team members to discuss progress and find new ways to improve the business
  • Compile and analyze data to identify trends

What you'll need

  • 10+ years' professional experience in a business development role targeted at the US Government
  • 7+ years' Sales or Marketing experience
  • Proven experience in using or selling high assurance security equipment or related services
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) and an aptitude for learning new systems
  • Proven problem solver with an appetite for analytics, but can go beyond the numbers to articulate and operationalize insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presentations and/or briefings
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience
  • US Government position. US Citizenship required
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance when administratively feasible
  • Ability to travel up to 50% both domestic and international

What will help you on the job

  • MBA/Masters in related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Proficiency with common customer success and customer relationship management software, such as Microsoft CRM or Salesforce
  • Professional certification in related field (i.e. CISSP)

Salary range

$120,000.00 - $189,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $149,000.00- $223,000.00/ annually

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
