Job Type: Contract-to-hire

Worksite Location: Fort Worth, TX

Worksite Schedule: Onsite in Fort Worth, TX - working a 9/80 schedule, being off every other Friday

Client Industry: Complex Manufacturing

Salary Conversion: $130,000 - $145,000 +, based on experience

Hourly Pay Rate: $60.00 - $75.00 / hour, W2

Vaco is seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager with prior experience working within the manufacturing industry, that is highly skilled at navigating challenging conversations related to ERP upgrades, software conversions, optimization, and business process reengineering. This will be a contract-to-hire employment opportunity based in Fort Worth, TX for a cutting-edge client in the complex manufacturing industry. Candidates must currently be local to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and willing to work onsite, as our client is unable to offer relocation assistance at this time. Candidates must also be legally eligible to work in the United States, as our client is unable to sponsor at this time.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experiencedSenior Project Managerto lead and deliver complex software optimization initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This individual will play a critical role in project governance, stakeholder management, and cross-functional alignment while acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and a large external software development team. The ideal candidate has a minimum ofeight years of project management experience, preferably within themanufacturing industry, and is highly skilled at navigating challenging conversations related to ERP upgrades, software conversion, optimization, and business process reengineering

Job Scope:
  • Lead full-cycle project management efforts with a focus on software optimization, ERP upgrades, and manufacturing-related initiatives.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment, manage expectations, and escalate critical issues when necessary-though ideally, resolve most issues independently.
  • Act as the primary business liaison between internal business units and external software development teams.
  • Ensure project governance and consistent communication across business and technical teams.
  • Lead executive-level communications and presentations; deliver concise, impactful updates to senior leadership.
  • Support the transition from SAP CAMS to SAP PEO, with potential engagement in additional enterprise-scale projects.
  • Facilitate end-user interaction and feedback to ensure business needs are clearly understood and met.
  • Drive discussions around business process engineering and change management to support project success.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in project management, with strong preference for backgrounds inmanufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience withsoftware optimization projects, ERP upgrades,and managingend-user interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex stakeholder environments and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent executive presence andpresentation skills.
  • Experience acting as a liaison between business units and software development vendors.
  • Strong understanding ofbusiness process engineering.
  • Experience leading or supporting software projects involvingSAP PP - Production Planning, PEO - Production Engineering & Operations, MES - Manufacturing Execution Systems, and CAMS - Complex Assembly Manufacturing Solutionis highly desirable.
  • Ability to influence change and challenge assumptions in a diplomatic yet firm manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience inSAP CAMS to PEO conversion projects.
  • Familiarity withmanufacturing execution systems (MES).
