Overview The Material Handler is responsible for performing all functions necessary for transporting and maintaining materials, supplies, and finished products at the location. This position reports directly to the Plant Foreman. Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the plant.
- Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
- Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
- Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
- Tracks all movement of materials and products in Linus.
- Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform inventory counts and security checks on materials and products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- 21+ years of age
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- 2+ years of experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements
- Hazard Recognition - Identify potential safety issues and make recommendations for action or resolution.
- Ability to wear and perform work in required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Possess basic math & writing skills.
- Possess organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate with various departments and team members.
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, lift and carry up to 60Ibs, and operate valves.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Linus, or related software.
Work Environment This position will be exposed to all elements of the weather on the plant site. This is a safety sensitive position which requires employees to disclose the use of any prescription medication that may affect his or her ability to safely perform the essential functions of this position.
