Hazardous Materials Specialist Location

Overview Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is hiring for a Hazardous Materials Specialist (Shipper) in Richland, WA. This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD). Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities The Hazardous Materials Specialist provides characterization and program support for all radiological and non-radiological waste types (i.e., Low Level Waste, High Level Waste, Mixed Waste, Polychlorinated Biphenyls, and Transuranic Waste). Provides broad-based technical and regulatory support for ongoing HLMI waste packaging and shipments. Provides technical support for specific projects as needed. Performs calculations to support waste management, characterization, and other efforts, and update documents accordingly. Supports effective implementation and regulatory compliance of waste management programs. Provides general facility and project waste management support for packaging, shipping, and disposition of Low-Level Waste, High-Level Waste, Mixed Waste, Polychlorinated Biphenyls, and Transuranic Waste.
Scopes technical tasks and develops creative solutions to assigned problems of basic to high complexity.

Compensation Grade 16: $88,200 - $111,100 Grade 18: $106,663 - $134,588 The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
