This critical executive leadership role is integral to Optum Technology's Enterprise Technology Infrastructure and Platform Services (ETIPS). ETIPS is responsible for increasing public cloud adoption, modernizing our contact center platform, enhancing the digital workplace experience, and the integration of acquired entities.

The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Corporate and Employee Experience is responsible for overseeing the global strategic direction, management, and execution of all corporate technology, helpdesk support services, and end-user computing initiatives. This role ensures the alignment of technology services with business goals, improves the employee experience through innovation including the use of generative AI and drives operational efficiency. The leader will focus on maintaining the highest standards of stability, availability and security adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:




  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans for corporate applications, helpdesk support, and end-user computing to support business objectives
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of ~2,000 global technology professionals, including senior leadership and ensuring high performance and professional development
  • Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of helpdesk support services, ensuring timely and effective resolution of user issues and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and adherence to SLAs
  • Application Management: Manage the lifecycle of corporate applications, including selection, implementation, maintenance, and upgrades
  • End User Computing: Ensure the provision of reliable and secure end-user computing environments, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and related software
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for corporate applications, helpdesk support, and end-user computing, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met. This role will be responsible for managing contracts in excess of $250M annually.
  • Policy Development: Develop and enforce technology policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of technology services and drive continuous improvement
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership and business units to understand their needs and ensure Corporate and Employee Experience services support their goals

Required Qualifications:




  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT management, running critical business systems with high resiliency, availability, scalability and security; 8 or more years in a senior leadership role overseeing corporate applications, helpdesk support, and end-user computing
  • Solid leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and people skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of IT service management and corporate applications
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of financials and global organizational leadership
  • Solid experience in strategic vendor partnerships, leading large-scale teams, and building capabilities for large-scale enterprise needs
  • Ability to navigate and work across multiple constituents to develop, communicate, and support a company's short-term and long-term business objectives
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to UnitedHealth Group's Vision and Values
  • Able to travel 15%
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field

The salary range for this role is $350,000 to $425,000 annually based on full-time employment . Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
