What you'll do

This is a senior position in the content and research teams responsible for bringing additional rigor, relevance, and prominence to the research behind AlixPartners's signature content and other studies.

Broadly speaking, you will be expected to work with your colleagues to deepen and expand the impact of the Firm's research-based content, such as the AlixPartners Disruption Index.

You will work closely with others on the content and Business Intelligence Center (BIC) teams to propose, develop, deliver, and publish research that has a significant impact on the Firm's brand and marketing, including the firm's major studies.

You will



  • develop and implement ideas extend the reach of the AlixPartners Disruption Index (ADI) as well as deepen the insights derived from it
  • define and execute the firm's research strategy in alignment with business priorities and market trends.
  • develop ideas for new studies
  • deduce important insights from data
  • oversee the development of research tools, databases, and knowledge-sharing practices to build institutional intelligence.
  • articulate those insights in ways that are powerful and meaningful to the firm's consultants and clients.
  • deliver internal and external presentations of the firm's key research
  • leverage emerging tools, data sources, and technologies (e.g., AI, data analytics) to enhance research capabilities


You will also work closely with practice and regional marketing teams to identify their commercial priorities; to develop ideas to advance those priorities in conjunction with others on the content team; and to work closely with BIC and others to better coordinate the firm's research content with data from outside sources and the on-the-ground experience of the firm's consultants. You will also act as an advisor to BIC leadership on best practices across all facets of business research including but not limited to the impact of AI.

The Business Intelligence Director reports to the Partnership Matters Partner - Strategic Projects and can be in New York, NY or Dallas, TX. Paid relocation is not available.

What you'll need



  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years' experience in senior roles in consulting or similar professional services fields
  • Solid knowledge of business and management with an understanding of what is important to senior executives from a global perspective; global experience is a plus.
  • Excellent track record of delivering research that shapes strategy and drives business outcomes.
  • A deep knowledge of research methods, including surveys, statistical analysis, and other qualitative and quantitative research methods, along with data analytics capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of research methodologies, data analysis, and industry dynamics.
  • Excellent writing skills and data visualization skills
  • Advanced project management skills to be able to envision and plan complex research projects, including not just the design and execution of research, but the development of development, publication, and marketing plans involving many stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

Employees will also receive a generous paid leave policy including vacation/personal time starting at 7.34 hours per pay period, sick time up to 80 hours annually, parental leave, and twelve holidays.

The salary range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $180,000/annually - $220,000/annually with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
