Remote Within Our Coverage Area of Volusia, Flagler, Seminole, Brevard, and St. Johns Counties

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of the Quality Improvement Coordinator is to improve the quality and safety of health care our FHCP members receive. This position will have the opportunity and responsibility to create project plans as well as collaborate with many other resources to improve processes. This role will be encouraged to research opportunities for improvement. Tools utilized will include the electronic health record, claims system, clinical informatics reports, national guidelines, NCQA standards, HEDIS specifications, CMS regulations and other applicable resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, skills and experience:




  • A Bachelor's degree in public health, health care management, healthcare informatics or health education with five years of experience in a health care environment, or a graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN or LPN) with a current valid Florida license.
  • Healthcare quality and performance improvement experience required, CPHQ preferred.
  • Knowledge of HEDIS, CMS Star measures, and health plan accreditation standards.
  • Interest in improving the quality and safety of the FHCP health care system and making a difference in the lives of our members.
  • Critical thinking required.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports including but not limited to, the creation and manipulation of Excel pivot tables. SQL coding experience preferred.
  • Able to proficiently and effectively handle multiple priorities, projects and deliverables
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and other clinical and non-clinical staff to support and achieve long term performance improvement goals and objectives.
  • Possesses flexibility and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work remotely and utilize platforms such as Zoom.
